Battle of the Books Round 1 Winners
What is Battle?
Battle of the Books is a reading competition open to any fourth or fifth-grader who attends an Avondale elementary school, Oakland Christian School, or Auburn Hills Christian School. Interested homeschoolers should contact the Library to preregister. Readers create teams of 2-4 members and read from a selected list of titles (see below). These books will be available at the school libraries, the Auburn Hills Public Library, and some are available digitally through the Libby or Hoopla apps.
How Does it Work?
Each school may send one team to the final Battle in March. To qualify, teams will be invited on Friday, March 11 to participate in a Kahoot quiz based on the books they’ve read. The team with the highest score will represent their school in the final Battle which will be held at the Auburn Hills Community Center located at 1827 N Squirrel Rd, Auburn Hills, MI 48326.
How to Sign Up?
Interested students should fill out the preregistration form located below. If you do not have a team, fill out the preregistration form anyway, and we will work with your school to connect you with a team. To complete registration, the student and a parent/guardian must pick up a registration packet from the Youth Services desk of the Auburn Hills Public Library. Please have preregistration forms submitted by Friday, January 14, and packets collected between January 15 – January 29, 2022.
Registration for the 2022 Battle of the Books is open from December 6 – January 14.
